Pat Alcorn joined Highmark in July 2019 as the Director of Facility Development and since elevated to Vice President. His key responsibility is to work with clients from conception, through construction, into occupancy, and beyond.

Prior to joining the Highmark team Pat’s career served the educational construction industry for nearly 20 years. Pat has a Bachelor of Science degree in mining engineering and a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Utah. The first several years of his career focused primarily on structural design of elementary, middle, and high school educational facilities.

After gaining a love of seeing buildings constructed and occupied for their intended use, he switched employment to a major contractor in the state of Utah that focused on building these educational facilities that he used to engineer. He continued to work with clients, architects, and design engineers for the next 11 years focusing on new k-12 educational facilities, complicated occupied remodel/additions, and historical restoration projects. The last phase of his career before joining the Highmark team was with a city public works department in Utah. This helped close the full circle from concept, engineering, construction, and ownership.
