Dreamers Academy

Overview: Dreamers Academy is a charter school designed to serve 648 students from Kindergarten through 5th grade, with a focus on dual-language Spanish immersion. The school aims to provide a bilingual education that fosters academic excellence and cultural fluency. This project involves the construction of a new school facility to support its unique educational model.

Facilities: The new Dreamers Academy facility features a tilt-up construction method, encompassing 43,101 square feet. Wolfe Architects, Inc. was responsible for the architectural design, while Gilbane Building Company handled the construction. The facility is designed to create an immersive and supportive environment for dual-language learning.

Financial Structure: The construction project is financed through a tax-exempt bond with a 35-year term, underwritten by D.A. Davidson. The financing entity is the Florida Development Finance Corporation, which issued Educational Facilities Revenue Bonds to support the project’s funding.

Completion: The new Dreamers Academy building was completed and ready for occupancy in August 2023, enabling the school to begin operations in its state-of-the-art facility at the start of the academic year.
